Paranormal Activity 3 Kicks Real Steel From Top

October 24, 2011 By

The weekend box office results are in and Paranormal Activity 3 beat out everybody to become the number one film this weekend. It also broke the record for an October premiere by bringing in more than $54 Million dollars and is the top grossing film ever for a Fall release according to Box office Mojo. Real Steel had dominated the box office for 2 weeks but Robots just can’t compete with with Ghosts. Other films that opened this weekend were the Three Musketeers, that took in a little less than $9 Million putting it in 4th place overall, and Johnny English Reborn, which took in almost $4 Million and ended up in 8th place. The remake of Footloose was in fourth place with a respectable take of a hair less than $11 Million. One film that could have given Paranormal a run for its money was Martha Marcy May Marlene, but it was only a limited release. I was one of the lucky ones to see this film and while I loved PA 3, Martha was a much better and more intense film.
