Kitchen Nightmares is heading down to Georgia tonight and Chef Ramsay is trying to save Michon’s Smoked Meats and Seafood with his usual hard hitting style. The show starts with Ramsay seeing that the owner of this restaurant is too sick to run it and his daughter is slacking in her management. The staff is taking a lot of shortcuts like microwaving all the food. Al Wilson is the owner and Natalie Michon is the daughter and they are responsible for this College Park icon. Al says they are over $200,000 dollar in debt. al and Ramsay have a meeting before he goes to the restaurant. He tells Chef Ramsay that he want him to help his daughter take over this restaurant so he can retire. Chef is shocked to hear that Al has over 18 security cameras that he uses to monitor the business from home.
Chef Ramsay heads to Michon’s and it greeted by Natalie and her mother. He says he loves the way the business looks. Natalie admits that she stays out of the restaurant as much as she could and stays in the office. He tries to order from the menu and he can’t get potato salad because the staff doesn’t like to peel potatoes. This is going to be funny! He tries one of the smoked chicken wings and he loves the sauce but the wing is very dry. The waitress tells him that the reason the wing is dry is because they are a day old. Now the full meal comes out. His salad has rotten tomatoes on it and he sends it back. Natalie thinks this is ok. Now he tries the ribs and they are dry. The cornbread is old and dry also and he says it is like eating a mouthful of sand. There is nothing that he likes here.
Chef heads to the kitchen to see what is going on here. He meets the staff and there is no head chef. The brisket is 4 days old and is being microwaved and they tell him that everything he had today was microwaved. He walks out and returns to observe the dinner service. It looks like everything is just reheated in microwaves and he heads out to see the smokers. They are state of the art and the fresh food is amazing he says. He confronts Natalie about why all this fresh food is not being used. Natalie can’t answer why they don’t use the fresh food. Tons of food is heading back into the kitchen by complaining customers.
After dinner service, Gordon goes to inspect the kitchen and he finds huge amounts of old food in the cooler. Some of it is over 5 days old. He piles up all the old food from the cooler and it fill up the entire prep counter. He brings in the staff and shows them all of the old food that was stacked up in the cooler and is being reused. He is not holding back in his criticism of this practice. Natalie is not very happy about his tone. Natalie asks what should be done about the left over food. Chef Ramsay tells her she needs to plan out how much to cook each night based on how many she averages serving. He takes Natalie out for a private talk. He confronts her about her attitude and she is not liking this at all! Ramsay tells her to get off her A** and start running the restaurant instead of hiding in the office. In a first, he walks out on her. He brought in Chef Adam and Natalie got on track. Michon’s Smokehouse and Seafood looks like is now has a bright future ahead of it.
