Doctor Oz is all about how to keep you looking and feeling younger today on his Biggest Anti Aging Show and he will be giving us Lots of tips. He opens the show saying that he is going makeup free today and he asks that the audience to take off all their makeup. Everyone does it. The women in the show talk of how insecure they feel without makeup and how it makes them feel ugly. He says that it is the only way to find problems in your skin and makeup will mask those problems. Oz asks all the audience to look in the mirror and find all the flaws in their skin and they will all find out how old their skin is.
Dr. Anne Chapas is on the show and she guides us through some questions. Are your eyelids drooping down over your eyes? Chapas says the eyelids are the first place your skin will change. Next, do you see smile lines from your nose to the corner of your mouth? Chapas says wrinkles in this area become more prevalent as we age. Third, is the covering on your cheeks and forehead even or spotty? Sun damage causes this. Fourth, is you skin on your jaw sagging? She says sagging skin is from yo yo dieting. Fifth, do you have horizontal wrinkles on your forehead or vertical ones between your lip and nose? This is caused by smoking and stress. Everyone now opens their results from the skin age test. People are shocked to hear that they have skin older than they actually are.
The next segment deals with the newest anti aging treatments. Paula Begoun is on the show to give us over the counter treatments and Dr. Chapas will cover doctor treatments. First Paula says retinol should not be in jars and is a great wrinkle remover. Dr. Chapas talks about a new injection treatment called the vampire face lift. Paula says vitamin C and niaminicide works to get rid of age spots. Chapas says there is a laser treatment for these also.
Jennifer Goldstein is here to talk about how to keep your hair young. She first tells us that we need to trim it regularly to keep it healthy. Just a small trim is all that is needed. We get an Oz demonstration on how your hair loses oil as you age and how our hair retains less oil when we get older. Jennifer says using a dry shampoo or only washing your hair every 3 days will help keep the oil in your hair. Use a conditioner after washing to keep oil in your hair. Next, we see a person that uses a flat iron daily. Oz shows her how the heat from one of these will actually cook an egg and burn it. This is what it is doing to your hair. Jennifer says if you are going to use a flat iron you should use something like a hair serum before you use the iron.
Lingonberries are the next topic. They are a natural way to fight cancer and other things. Dr. Peta Longuidice says these berries are very high in anti oxidants and they are great at helping to prevent cancer. They are great raw but here in the US you can get them in Jam form and make a smoothie from them. Oz says these are replacing blueberries on his list of must eat foods that will keep you healthy.
Becky Worley from Yahoo News is here to play spin it to win it for sleep aids. First is the sleep relief pillow. Next, bed phones that provide white noise to make you fall asleep. Finally, the third prize is the Phillips wake up light to transition out of deep sleep slowly. Oz gives these to the whole audience. The pillow will help lower your body temp to make you sleep better, the bed phones will provide white noise so you will rest easier, and the alarm clock brightens the room slowly so you don’t get jarred out of a deep sleep.
