Oprah’s Next Chapter on OWN tonight will feature an intimate interview with female activist and author, Gloria Steinem, who has invited Oprah to her home in New York. A part of the episode will take place at Barnard College as Oprah Winfrey and Gloria Steinem talk to sixty women on the very selective campus about marriage. The Toledo, Ohio born feminist icon will talk with Oprah about her life and struggles as well as her views of marriage and mental illness, which her mother suffered from which left her scared at times but always feeling loved even though she was often tasked with being the caregiver instead of the cared for.
Gloria Steinem has paved the path for many changes which have occurred in history related to the rights for women as well as bringing many social issues to the forefront of the media such as animal rights in addition to being politically active for years including her disdain for President Bush and declaration of Sarah Palin being “unqualified and opposing everything most other women want or need.” Find out what she has to say in this “up close and personal” interview with Oprah on Oprah’s Next Chapter which airs on OWN tonight beginning at 9/8c.
