“Dancing with the Stars” finale show starts out with the professionals and the dance troupe members dancing great choreography which gives way to the eliminated teams and ends with the final three. It was pretty coll and a great launch to the season finale!

The judges want to see Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd perform the freestyle country showdown from last night which really rocked the ballroom as the final encore dance of the season and it was better the second time around if that is even possible. In the audience is Emily Maynard from “The Bachelorette” with host Chris Harrison. Sherri Shepherd is the first previously eliminated star to return with her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as several other men (Tony, Sasha, Henry, Maks, and Kiki) to perform choreography to “It’s Raining Men.” This is going to be a great show as Tom Bergeron introduces some clips from the beginning of the season.

As everyone anticipates the final round of dance, Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani perform and she is looking great! Following on their heels is Jack Wagner and Anna Trebunskaya who are looking as though they are having the time of their life. Both teams perform fabulous routines. This brings up the fun final performance of Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff before they were voted off except there have been a couple more females added (Sharna, Oksana, and Emma) to the choreography which includes the girls shimmying over Gavin as he lies on the ballroom floor with hands over his eyes…he is so cute! JR Martinez is in the audience tonight most likely remembering his winning moment last season!

Brooke Burke-Charvet talks with the teams as they warmup for the grand finale dance of round three which is a selection of their own but they were only given twenty-four hours to prepare a routine. For William Levy and Cheryl Burke, it will be the salsa while Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas have selected the jive with Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd doing the cha-cha-cha. There are more clips from the season which include KISS and Melissa Gilbert’s unfortunate head injury.

Galdys Knight and Tristan MacManus take the dance floor in a lovely performance where the Empress of Soul is looking absolutely fabulous. She later performs immediately prior to the announcements of the placement of the final three as version of The Way We Were” which brings many a tear as there are moments from the season highlighting the journey of these fine performers.

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson perform a paso doble which Jaleel never got to do as he was eliminated before they got the chance. This time, he pulled out the stops with choreography to the “Shaft” theme song. It started out fantastic with Sasha, Emma, Henry, and Oksana joining the duo but it is not certain what happened at the end when Jaleel either missed a cue or was tired when he went to do a final lift with Kym which was blundered, Thank goodness there was no judging tonight!

Melissa Gilbert and partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, perform their trio dance with Val Chmerkovskiy that was the dance before this duet was eliminated and was the comeback performance following her concussion. It was a stunning as it was the first time only she looked as though she was having more fun. Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower perform a freestyle they were cheated out of by the double elimination which infused some not so ballroom styles as they rocked the hip hop.

Kelly Clarkson takes the stage to perform a medley of her new single “Dark Side” and her smash hit “Stronger.” She is accompanied by several of the troupe dancers as well as Anna Trebunskaya and Tristan MacManus with Tony Dovolani and Kym Johnson execute stunning choreography as everyone in the audience is up and dancing with fist pumps! The final performance before the finalists take the floor is from Maria Menounos and Derek Hough with their fabulous Argentine Tango which was simply flawless.

FINAL ROUND: STAR CHOICE

The first duo to hit the floor is William Levy and Cheryl Burke with a salsa to please. It is as hot as the stuff they make at my local Mexican restaurant with William slinging his hips for all he is worth and the crowd is loving it! The judges score this dance with a perfect thirty giving them a final score of “89″ which will be added to the voters tally. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas prove that the jive can be as excellent the second time around as it was the first with a clean and incredibly fast routine. Katherine is on point with very crisp movements. The judges score this dance with a perfect score as well placing the at the top with three perfect dances and a total of “90.” The final performance is from Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd and although this was not nearly as exciting as the country showdown last night, it was one of the best with fabulous side-by-side dancing and great form which gains Donald another ten from Len Goodman and an overall perfect score for a total of “89″ to tie once more with William Levy and Cheryl Burke.

As both Peta and Katherine stand teary eyed on the stage waiting for Tom Bergeron to make the announcement of who is the first to be eliminated, the tension in the audience can clearly be felt. Drum roll, please! The third place finish goes to…William Levy and Cheryl Burke! He thanks the fans and the audience for having his back and you can hear a quiver in his voice as he talks about Cheryl. After the commercial break, the winner is announced and it is DONALD DRIVER! Peta goes crazy as Donald starts running around and rolls on the ballroom floor! Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas bow out gracefully! So ends an GREAT season of “Dancing with the Stars” and if this season was this good, next season of the all-stars will be incredible!
