TLC launches a new reality series this evening called “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and it follows the family of “Toddlers and Tiaras” sensation Alana Thompson, AKA Honey Boo Boo, who first hit the small screen running in January in a very controversial episode of “Toddlers” where her mother, June Thompson, was accused of “doping” the six-year-old with a mixture of Mountain Dew and Red Bull (AKA “Go-Go Juice” which is suspected of containing alcohol) after fifteen bags of Pixy Stix failed to get her more hyper than she naturally is according to an article on Mail Online. The article goes on to described the child as “spirited [with a] bizarre speaking manner that is precocious and incoherent.” Well, isn’t that true of most rednecks?
If you ever watched CMT’s “My Big Redneck Vacation” (and enjoyed it), you will be thrilled with this six-part series which will drone on for the last few weeks of summer as television audiences get to follow the lives of this Southern family who takes the term “redneck” to an all new dimension! In addition to beauty queen with a (bad) attitude Alana “Honey Boo Boo” and her coupon-clipping household product hoarding mother, June, viewers will get to meet the rest of the clan this evening which includes chalk miner dad who goes by “Sugar Bear” and her three sisters – 12-year-old Lauryn “Pumpkin” Thompson, 15-year-old Jessica “Chubbs” Thompson, and pregnant 17-year-old Anna “Little Chickadee” Thompson. Hold up a minute! This family may be on a roll to more reality television show invitations including “Extreme Couponing” and “Teen Mom 3!”
Find out tonight, starting at 10/9c on TLC, what this seemingly dysfunctional family does for fun outside of the typical redneck past times of four-wheeling through mud pits androadkill for the family Sunday BBQ. It is sure to…well…stun you! CMR will be there, so if you miss it (wish we could), come back to read the recap of the events.
