This evening on “Emily Owens, M.D.” Cassandra feels generous and offers to set Emily up on a blind date to “jump start” her social life since it seems as though things with Micah have fallen through and Cassandra does not really want her available as to keep her exclusiveness with Will intact. Among the patients this week attended to is an overworked woman who is told she has major blocked arteries in the heart but decides she wants to fly home but before leaving the hospital suffers a mild cardiac infarction which leaves her needing an immediate bypass surgery and demanding of her husband life needs to be taken at a slower pace. Will this change after surgery? Who knows, but Dr. Bendari is informed the husband is leaving and starts to wonder about her own marriage and whether it is in jeopardy. It seems to be when she arrives home, full of apologies and when the thought of a vacation is mentioned, her husband basically shuts down. Hmm…
Micah faces malpractice charges from a woman whose mother died following a surgical procedure to remove her uterus as she was diagnosed with cancer. The surgery was successful indicating the cancer had not spread but while the daughter was away from the hospital, the mother suffered a heart attack which, as explained by Dr. Owens, is always a possibility. It seems that lawsuits are the bandwagon everyone these days jumps on when things do not go as they feel they should especially when a loved one dies. It is almost as though someone should be made to pay for the actions of Mother Nature!
A gentleman, Tom, comes into the emergency room after having been injured while larping (live action role playing) as a king to which Will takes offense thinking the man has developed a psychosis when he suddenly goes blind. Emily believes different and when one of the players from his game comes to the hospital, it is discovered he was limping prior to the fall which gashed his arm that resulted from a blood clot in his leg which developed due to his constant sitting in front of a computer while at work. Emily tells him he will be given Heparin to break up the clot and placed in a hyperbaric chamber for the clots in his eyes. While there, he complains of being unable to breath which means the clot has moved to his lungs and he is immediate need of surgery. Astral, the woman from the game whom the man feels is only after his kingdom, really likes the guy and tells him so following his surgery that Dr. Bendari pulls off at the last minute.
Emily dresses to the nines for her blind date with Scott and it is apparent Will is jealous when she gets tipsy and starts to come on the the guy Will thinks is not good enough for her. What is up with these two…always pretending to be “just friends” when it is clear they have the hots for one another? Emily kisses Scoot who has an immediate allergic reaction to the peanuts she ate sending him to the emergency and a clear break between the two. Everyone is noticing how she looks as Emily, not Dr. Owens, especially Micah who confides in her about the lawsuit which is subsequently dropped prompting Micah to dump his girlfriend following the make-up session with Emily. As luck would have it, Will confronts Emily as to whether or not she will be seeing Scott anymore since, as he puts it, the guy is all wrong. Twinkle in her eyes as she realizes he really does like her!
So ends another episode of “Emily Owens, M.D.” as her closet is cleaned out as changes take place in her life and she makes room for them! Tune in next week for a new look at the interns in Denver!

I am extremely happy that Micah and Emily made up! Also, very disappointed that the show is cancelled! And, really hoping that Micah and Emily end up together!
Agh, I LOVE this show. Every bit of it. I am SO sad it is cancelled. It is quite agonising knowing these fantastic characters are probably not going to get the endings I want for them. Great recap, really enjoyed reading it. xx
