This evening on “The Bachelor” Sean finds himself in the throws of musical bachelor during the cocktail party when it is every woman for herself with common courtesy tossed to the wind as bachelorette after bachelorette interrupts one-on-one conversations at a chance to have the last word! Who is sent packing at the end of it all? Read on, fans!
The episode might have been called “Fun in the Sun” but for some, it was not so fun while for others, not so sunny. Sean starts the program by stating he is really “digging” several of the women already but with sixteen still remaining, it is a little too early to call out favorites. There will be two one-on-one dates and a group date. Who will be the lucky ladies? Chris Harrison reveals the first one-on-one date card which reads:
Lesley M. How long will love last? Sean
It is very cryptic and confusing as Sean whisks Lesley away to Hollywood’s Guinness Book of World Records Museum. She is really stunning in her cute lace pink mini dress though. He tells her his father actually holds the world record for driving through forty-eight consecutive states in the shortest time…97 hours and 7 minutes. There is even a picture to prove it at the museum, but they are here to set their own world record – the “Longest ‘On-Screen’ Kiss” which has stood for more than a decade at 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Perched on a red carpeted podium, the two engage in a kiss out on the street and although it looks as though they will wind up laughing through it, they pull it off. There is now a new world record and “The Bachelor” owns it…with his date, of course! Who out there was not really impressed? I am sure Lesley doesn’t really care since she manages to get the date rose and is safe from elimination.
The group date card arrives and twelve names are rattled off. The girls are excited to play in the sand with Sean until Chris Harrison arrives to inform them a competition is involved – beach volleyball! These women are horrendous but “Who will win my (Sean’s) heart?” The blue team apparently which consists of Amanda, Lindsay, Jackie, Robyn, Kacie, and Desiree. It was really nauseating to hear the women state how much they NEED time with him as if he was some kind of food product necessary for survival! As the losing team prepares to head back to the mansion, Kristy and Robyn become overly dramatic with the crocodile tears routine. Seriously?
Back at Sean’s house, Lindsay is given the first one-on-one talk followed by Desiree and Amanda while back at the mansion, Ashlee is delivered the last date card which reads “Do you believe in magic?” It is a trip to Magic Mountain where they will share the day in the amusement park with two young women suffering from debilitating diseases as a part of a program called Starbright. It really moves Ashlee in the same way her story about adoption moves Sean to tears at the end of the night. Lindsay gets the group date rose.
Before the two have a chance to leave the house, Tierra falls down the stairs (or did she throw herself at the mercy of Sean?” He comes to the rescue as the drama team…I mean trauma team…shows up but is sent away by Tierra who manages to secure one-on-one time with Sean as the psycho manipulates her claws even deeper into Sean. Lust is indeed blind! Never fear, Ashlee gets her time and honestly, it is hard not to fall in love with her and a silent cheer is heard from my report desk as she is given the rose and they romantically dance during a private concert by the Eli White Band.
As mentioned, the cocktail party turns ruthless as the women bring on the game of musical Sean where the quickest to interrupt begins with Desiree taking Sean from Tierra who almost immediately returns to reclaim him. This was, however, after Sean had taken Sarah outside to surprise her with a visit from her dog, Leo, who arrived in a limo that she thought was to take her home. Wow! As her tears fell because she thought she was eliminated, the audience had to think this was a really cruel twist.
The rose ceremony had a twist of its own as Sean asks Kacie to talk with him privately. They leave the room with him carrying a rose but it is not to be delivered as he informs Kacie they will only ever be friends and she is sent off in the limo. When he returns, he informs the remaining women of the situation like the gentleman he is and the first rose is given to Tierra. No surprise there! This is followed by roses to everyone but Taryn and Kristy who are the two eliminations tonight! Who will survive next week? Tune in Monday night at 8/7c on ABC to find out.

A little competition is healthy although it does seem like on this show it just makes the women angrier, well certain women. Let’s be fair here and say that both teams were horrible at volleyball but only one of them ended up with the match point fair and square.
