American Idol, April 3, 2013, was about about Rock n Roll tonight and a few of the top 7 struggled to find their voice. Burnell Taylor started out the show with his version of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name.” He really did give this song a bad name. Keith Urban was in tears from laughing so hard. Burnell proves that not everyone can do Rock. Kree Harrison wowed all the judges with her version of Janice Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.” She is our favorite of the night and should have no problem advancing on. Don’t forget to vote in our poll below!
Janelle Arthur takes on Billy Joel’s “You May Be Right” and you would be right to say this wasn’t the best song for her. She did a good job and none of the judges really criticize her. I think it was strong enough to move on. Lazaro Arbos redeems himself this week by taking on Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and he does a decent job of it although they did have to lower the key so he could keep up. This is our second worst performance of the night behind Burnell.
Candice Glover does “Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones and she nails this song. Nicki says it put her to sleep but she was referring to the song and not the performance. I guess we need to keep every week up beat so she will stay awake? Candice is a shoe in to continue. Amber Holcomb takes the stage and does Heart’s “What About Love” with an effortless style that makes me think she will go all the way this year. the judges all love it and this is our new favorite tonight.
Last but not least, Angela Miller does “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescense. Now I thought this was good and she will advance on. She just doesn’t capture the feeling of the original song and doesn’t improve on it in any way. Even though she will go on, I really have to say this was my least favorite of the night.
The voting is now open and you can go to American idol and cast your vote. Please make sure to vote in our own poll below.
Angela Miller and Lazaro Arbos did “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and they seem a little uncomfortable out there. Lazaro actually forgets the lyrics again and the judges notice. This guy needs cliff notes or index cards.
Burnell Taylor and Candice Glover do “The Letter” and Burnell redeems himself but is overshadowed by Candice.
Amber, Janelle and Kree make a new hit out of Billy Joel’s “It’s Still Rock n Roll To Me” and they are all stellar. Will Randy fall in love with these three? Looks like he wants to marry all of them with that big smile on his face.
Although the three ladies are awesome, we have to give the top group performance to Burnell and Candice. Burnell came back strong and Candice was just awesome.
So now is the time to vote so please take our poll below and let us know who you think will be eliminated from American Idol tomorrow night. we will announce our results along with the live results of the show.
