The Dr. Oz Show, October 12, 2015, is an in depth show about the body’s metabolism and the effects of a slow metabolism in sabotaging weight loss. Most people know that the metabolism is the engine that turns foods into energy. Some people seem to be able to consume as many calories as they want and still never gain a pound. Some gain weight no matter how hard they cut back on calories. Oz says the metabolism could be sabotaging your weight and will give ways to rev up your body’s engine so you can burn more of the calories you consume and finally win the battle of the bulge.
Oz has always maintained that a person can change their metabolism. If a person is eating the right foods, exercising, and still cannot get rid of those excess pounds, it may be due to a slow metabolism. In previous seasons, we have seen the Fast Metabolism Diet, where Haylie Pomroy highlights foods a person can eat to speed up the body’s fat burning furnace. The diet featured varying the right kinds of carbs and veggies to keep the body guessing. Many diet plans are based in keeping the body confused an have borrowed the concept from body building.
Oz has also talked in past seasons about the dangers of diet soda and how they can wreck your metabolism. It seem artificial sweeteners work the same on the body as sugar. This means the body gets ready to deal with a lot of the sweet substance and it never comes. A 10 year study showed that drinking diet soda can destroy a person’s taste buds. It also concluded that drinking just 1 per day can add 70% to your belly fat.
So what new revelations will Oz have for us today about the metabolism and the link to weight loss? Make sure you watch the show or check back here on CMR for our full recap of all the latest news Doctor Oz is talking about.

Regarding Doctors prescribing drugs to people that don’t need them.
My sister, her husband, and two of her sons (in their late 20’s) are all on prescription Oxycodone for several years now. A couple of years ago the original doctor that was giving them on going prescription’s drove out to a country road and committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
Within about a month they found another doctor to fill their prescriptions’
They all lost their jobs, so now they all moved in with my 81 year old mother. (she knows what’s going on but will never ask them to move out because she feel like she is a bad mother to do that).Plus, they all smoke and my mom has really bad asthma.
Me and my other siblings tried to get my mom to move so they would have to find a different place to live, she won’t move. we’ve tried to directly asking them to move out with no success. Not sure what we can do.
Thank you for caring.
