On today’s edition of “The Dr. Oz Show”, Dr. Oz is joined on set by acclaimed actress and singer, Keke Palmer, who shares her own struggles when it comes to anxiety, whom Dr. Oz helps find the best foods to help combat stress and anxiety issues.
Dr. Oz is joined on his show by Keke Palmer, now the author of her own book, “I Don’t Belong to You”, opens up to Dr. Oz and his audience on her own struggles when it comes to dealing with her stress and anxiety. Keke particularly opens up about how she struggled to thrive in the music business, which added on to her own anxiety.
Dr. Oz helps her out by finding the perfect foods that help to fight against stress and anxiety, and even being healthy and great for maintaining a balanced and proper diet. The first food brought up are chickpeas, which are also used to create humus. Chickpeas are high in iron, which helps to prevent light headedness, appetite issues, and lack of energy. When made as “Chickpea Toast”, it is a great food to fight back against anxiety.
The next food product is both familiar and foreign at the same time: dark chocolate – with quinoa. Dark chocolate, with the added quinoa in it, is a great fighter against anxiety, as it contains some elements that are reminiscent towards marijuana. The dark chocolate increases the serotonin in the human body, and is great when paired with quinoa, which gives off anti-depressant effects.
The final food product that Dr. Oz introduces to Keke Palmer and his audience is one that is relatively common, but with a twist: camomile tea with a splash and ginger. Both of these together create a smooth blend that helps to ease and relax you as you take it in.
