The Golden Compass Tops Weekend Box Office

Los Angeles (CMR) – Taking a look at the weekend box office: Nicole Kidman’s fantasy The Golden Compass took top spot, though the US$180-million flick only earned a disappointing US$26-million.

Disney fairytale Enchanted came in at number two, and holiday flick This Christmas was third at the box office.

Vince Vaughan’s Fred Claus climbed back up to fourth place and Beowulf rounded out the top five.
