Cloverfield Rules Weekend Box Office

Los Angeles (CMR) - Cloverfield scored the top spot at the box office this weekend.

The low-budget horror flick took in US$41-million, while 27 Dresses, starring Katherine Heigl, placed second with US$22.4-million.

Less successful was Katie Holmes’ new movie, Mad Money.

Critics and audiences have labeled Katie’s new flick stark raving bad.

The film, which co-stars Queen Latifah placed 7th and took in a disappointing US$7.7-million.
