Los Angeles (CMR) - During the Christmas season, the comedy and drama flick, “The Bucket List” opened in theaters around the United States.

Initially greeted with unsatisfied comments, not many critics predicted that the movie will make it big when it comes to box office ticket sales.

However, as of this March, Reuters reported that the film already grossed more than $91 million in the US, after 13 weeks of release. This puts “The Bucket List” amongst top-grossing movies of the season, such as “I Am Legend” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks.”

The movie stars two Oscar-winning masters of the trade, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, and was directed by Rob Reiner. “The Bucket List” tells of a story of two old men battling cancer with only a few months left to live. The two develop a friendship and set out on an adventure around the world, doing things they’ve always wanted to do as itemized in their Bucket List.

The script was written by Justin Zackham, who also starred in 1995 film, “Boys Don’t Cry.” The writer and the director envisioned that Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson will be perfect for the roles in the story. Nicholson won an Oscar in “As Good as It Gets” while Freeman received the award for “Million Dollar Baby.”
