London (CMR) - “Crank 2: High Voltage” is ready to begin shooting on April 28 now that it has its main stars cast.
According to Variety.com, Jason Statham, Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam, and Efren Ramirez are set to reprise their roles from the first “Crank” film.
New to the sequel are actor Clifton Collins Jr., who joins the movie as the villain, as well as The Crow actress, Bai Ling.
Writers Mark Nevaldine and Brian Taylor will once again direct the sequel to the movie that made $42 million worldwide in 2006.

I rather enjoyed Crank, as pure action film and basically mindless. A fun wild ride, but a sequel? As I recall Chev (Jason Statham) fell 10,000 feet or so into a parked car… or did he? Ok I’ll admit to being curious as to how he might still be alive. Presuming he some how survived that he still has the poison issue to deal with.
Oh boy I am thinking way too deeply for this movie. Its just another 90 minutes adrenal junkie action!
He did indeed fall at the very end into a parked car, but after a few seconds it showed his eyes open.
According to another site, someone has stolen his nearly indistructible heart and replaced it with a battery one that needs electrical shocks to keep it going, hence “Crank 2: High Voltage”
Sounds very odd, but then the first one was as well! Mindless fun action!
