Who will win ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

Los Angeles (CMR) - Unlike past seasons of Dancing With the Stars, the top three couples had a dance-off of sorts. Hello, what!?! Seriously, I was giddy with anticipation.

The three remaining pairs had to dance the cha cha, with Cristián and Cheryl kicking it off, followed by Jason and Edyta and closing with Kristi and Mark. C&C were a hip-shaking delight, then I found that the whole thing slowed down when Jason and Edyta hit the dance floor, which wasn’t surprising considering Jason’s strong suit is the ballroom stuff, not the Latin. Things picked up again when Kristi and Mark started their performance. Her moves were, as usual, sharp and technically perfect, but her personality really shone – not the robot we’re used to seeing.

The couples then perform their freestyle routines, and like all the other seasons, I’m pretty bored. Not because the actual dancing was snoozy – because I’m just not a fan of the freestyles.

After all the scoring, from the cha chas and their freestyles, Kristi and Mark ended the night perfectly, with a total of 60 out of well, 60. Cris and Cheryl finished in a distant second with a 52, while Jason, who has clearly plateaued in recent weeks, rounded out the three with a score of 51.

Clearly, the most consistent dancer has been Kristi all season. She has shown elegance, sexiness, and last night, she truly looked like she was having a blast out there.

But will that be enough? Will Kristi Yamaguchi be the first female since Season 1 to take home the cheesy trophy?
