Los Angeles (CMR) - Almost 30 years after the original Flash Gordon movie, it’s making a come back on the big screen with a new director.

The 1980s film is most remember for it’s soundtrack by the rock band Queen.

Director Breck Eisner and Producer Neal Moritz are the only people confirmed to be taking part in the project and a writer for the film is still in the works.

The “Flash Gordon” movies are based on a science fiction comic strip by Alex Raymond from the 1930s.

The story is of an athlete (Flash Gordon) who travels to Planet Mongo with his lady love, Dale Arden, and mad scientist Dr.Hans Zarkov where they discover a world ruled by Ming the Merciless and meet strange inhabitants as the Hawkmen and the Sharkmen.
