Arlington (CMR) - On the weekend, an older than usual audience helped Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull break box office records.
This weekend, studio execs are hoping another niche audience, women in their 40s and early 50s, will help Sex and the City become a smash hit.
US online ordering site Fandango has conducted surveys and determined that 94% of pre-order ticket buyers are women and 67% plan on seeing the movie with a group of other women.
Many Facebook events have been set up by groups of girlfriends to go out for dinner and see the Sex and the City movie so for another week, it’s possible another film will be a box office smash without the majority of ticket buyers being equally men and women in their teens and 20s.
“Sex And The City” Stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Chris North As Mr. Big
