Eddie Murphy and Brett Ratner Team up for Beverly Hills Cop 4

After the recent success of bringing back 80s action movie franchises, such as Die Hard, Rocky, Rambo and Indiana Jones, Paramount has decided to move forward with a new sequel to Beverly Hills Cop.

New York (CMR) - After the recent success of bringing back 80s action movie franchises, such as Die Hard, Rocky, Rambo and Indiana Jones, Paramount has decided to move forward with a new sequel to Beverly Hills Cop.

Variety reports Eddie Murphy will return to the role of detective Axel Foley.

As well, Brett Ratner has signed on to direct the film.

Ratner is no stranger to the action comedy cop movie formula having directed all three of the Rush Hour movies.

The film is expected to be released in 2010.

The last was released in 1994.
