Los Angeles – Variety announced that a Wanted sequel is in the works after the producer of the film Mark Platt has signed on with Universal for another five years.
Platt knows that following up the ending to “Wanted” where all of the main characters except the hero are dead, will be a challenge.
The writers, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, have already started throwing around ideas which include a movie that follows the hero Wesley Gibson, played by James McAvoy, in his adventures while learning more about the background of his father which would hopefully bring back Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie.
Another option would be to just start another story completely and go from there.
Platt has also just signed on to do a re-make of the rock-opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” and is also hoping to do an adaptation of “Wicked” for the big screen.
