The Dark Knight Still Breaking Records

New York (CMR) - The Dark Knight continued breaking records this weekend by topping the box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated $75.6 million bringing its total after 10 days to $314.2 million.

The current record for the first 10 days was held by The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest which banked $258.4 million.

Will Ferrell’s new movie “Step Brothers” took the second spot this weekend with $30 million and “Mamma Mia” held the third spot with $17.9 million.

“The X-Files: I Want to Believe barely made it into double digits with $10.2 million.

“The Dark Knight” surpassed Iron Man as the year’s highest grossing blockbuster today and is sitting on the list of all time movie sales in number 23 right next to “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”.

With the pace it’s been going it is expected to take the number two spot just behind “Titanic” which grossed $600.8 million.
