New York (CMR) - Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, founders of New Line Cinema, have now become producers and will be producing their first film based on an adaptation of the science-fiction story “Foundation”.
“Foundation” was written by Isaac Asimov and published in 1951.
“Foundation” is very complicated as it is a combination of five short stories that form one plot.
The book is about a society that has figured out how to predict the future using psychohistory and then sets up a foundation strictly to do research to protect itself and its survival.
Two more books were written by Asimov after “Foundation” but Shaye and Lynne are just focusing on the first and if it becomes successful then they may continue on with the other books.
