Rogers Communications says it is extending the $30-a-month data plan on the iPhone in order to spur sales of smartphones.

Los Angeles (CMR) - ‘West Wing’ creator will write social networking flick

Remember Aaron Sorkin? The creator of Sports Night, The West Wing and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip? Well, CNN is reporting that he will write a film about the making of social networking site Facebook.

Aptly, Sorkin announced his plans to work with Sony and producer Scott Rudin on his own Facebook page.

“I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I’ve started this page. (Actually it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she’s been dead for 33 years),” Sorkin wrote.

The 47-year-old screenwriter, producer and playwright invited users to help him research the film.

“If anyone has any comments I’m glad to listen. And if anyone has any Facebook stories I think they might be helpful.” He added, “I feel about this introduction the way I felt about Sophie’s Choice – it could have been funnier.”

Sorkin has written screenplays for the films A Few Good Men (1992), The American President (1995) and Charlie Wilson’s War (2007).
