Los Angeles (CMR) - America has voted and Ramiele Malubay dream of becoming this years American Idol have ended.
Ramiele Malubay sang “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind” which failed to impress the judges and ultimately, the American public.
This week the bottom three consisted of Kristy Lee, Brooke White and Ramiele Maluba
The standouts this week were David Archuleta and Carly Smithson with anther strong performance from David Cook.
Wednesday’s show also featured performances by the Clake Brother who were the winners of of FOX’s “The Next Great American Band” and this weeks mentor, country music star Dolly Parton.
This episode also included a reminder about Idol Gives Back, which airs April 9th on FOX.
The final eight contestants for American Idol include Brooke White, Michael Johns, David Archuleta, Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado.

WOW! DOLLY ROCKS!!! I think that woman is amazing! and Ryan is right - she is still way hot!!! Great show all around, and the right one went home. I’m calling my country station right now and requesting “Jesus and Gravity”
I’m sorry, but Kristy Lee Cook SOOOOOOO should have went home like three weeks ago. And the only reason she saved herself last week was because she sang “I’m Proud to Be An American.” Who’s gonna vote her off after THAT? Ramielle, you weren’t fantastic this week, but you should still be with us. *sniff*
American has made an appropriate choice for next to go. Ramiele had finally learned to stop pouting and bringing on the little girl act when she disliked what she was hearing but it was not enough to make up for her uninspiring performances.
At this point in the competition, the all-around performers are moving ahead while those with critical weaknesses (like a clothing style image, as in Carly’s case, or wise song choices) may be having a tougher time staying out of the bottom three stools.
