Los Angeles (CMR) - The American Idol results show Wednesday showed that once again, anything can happen.
After the votes were counted, Carly Smithson was booted off American idol
Carly Smithson sang “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Randy said, “I don’t know if this was your best performance but it was definitely good.”
Many believed that Brooke White was going to be sent packing after her dismal performance Tuesday night when she forgot the lyrics and had to actually re-start the song.
Since we’re getting close to the end — and to fill up time — the bottom two idols got to perform again.
Now only Five American Idol contestants remain; Brooke White, David Cook, Syesha Mercardo, Jason Castro, and the David Archuleta.

WTF is with American Idol???!!! Carly was one of the best, if not the best one, and yet she gets voted off after an AMAZING performace? And how are Jason & Brooke safe?! The bottom two was wrong, and this show is just becoming a popularity contest…its not even about having talent anymore
wow, people wow
Anyone who is surprised by this result need only look at the past few seasons. It is blatantly obvious that the most talented person RARELY wins this contest. Who sold more albums last year, Daughtry or Taylor Hicks? Can you say SANJAYA?!? Or what about that kid from a couple seasons ago who bore a striking resemblance to Chicken Little? I don’t even remember his name! Anytime you have a contest like this where there is no limitation on how many times a poerson can vote, you will not get a proper result. It’s time for FOX to revamp the voting system, before the show’s credibility is completely lost.
Absolutely the bottom two was way off. I think Jason and Brooke were both surprised. Carly was by far the best female. But like with Daughtry, we will hear from her. It is becoming ridiculous the way the voting has gone the last few seasons. I quit watching when Daughtry was voted off., and I certainly bought his CD as soon as it came out.Taylor Hicks, that was a joke. I did however like Jordan Sparks.
