Boston (CMR) - Martin Scorsese has been replaced by Jonathan Demme as director of the unnamed Bob Marley Documentary.
BBC news reports that Scorsese has backed out due to scheduling conflicts.
Ziggy Marley, son of the late Bob Marley, will act as executive producer and said he was “excited” by Demme’s participation.
“His empathy with my father’s body of work and his unique understanding of the musical documentary form makes me confident that this film will be the ultimate celebration of my father’s life.”
Demme is thrilled to be working on this project and states that Marley is “one of the greatest human beings of modern times.”
The documentary is scheduled for release to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Bob Marley’s birth on February 6, 2010.
