Britney Returns to MTV�s VMAs

Britney Spears opened the show at this year�s MTV Video Music Awards.

New York (CMR) - Britney Spears opened the show at this year�s MTV Video Music Awards.

This was her first appearance since last year�s horrific performance. To the delight of her fans she managed to hold her own and take home her first three Moonman Awards.

Spears also fended off advances from �Superbad�s� Jonah Hill while cracking jokes.

Russell Brand, best known for his role as the rocker boyfriend of leading lady, played by Kirsten Bell, in �Forgetting Sarah Marshall�, hosted the show.

Moonmen were taken home by Chris Brown for Male video of the year, Pussycat Dolls for best dance in a video, Linkin Park for best rock video, Tokio Hotel for best new artist and of course Britney Spears won three, for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year.

Performances included The Jonas Brothers, Pink, Weezy and Kanye West closed out the show.
