Kris Allen Idol Upset

Season 8 is over. The best performance for my money was Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas. As every group/artist was intro’d with one of their own hits by one or more of the final 13, the girls gathered for a rendition of “Glamorous”, followed by the emergence of Fergie singing “Big Girls Don’t Cry (Personal).” She only sang a few bars, when the Black Eyed Peas appeared and they broke into “Boom Boom Pow.” Lowest point? Kara Dioguardi’s stripping off to her bikini in an effort to humiliate “bikini girl.” She says she did it for charity, but you can see pure jealously in her eyes whenever bikini girl appears. Get over it, Kara. Desperation is ugly. Other names brought in to fill 2 hours were Cyndi Lauper, Kiss, Lionel Richie, Queen, Rod Stewart, Jason Mraz, and a few more. Sadly for the Idol finale, its market share was the lowest since season 3.

And the winner is… Kris Allen was crowned King Idol. Good natured, soft spoken and self effacing won out over bold, OTT, and mascaraed. Apparently, Adam’s fans were more vocal rather than more numerous. Adam did do a good job in hiding his surprise. I’m sure he practiced for hours in the mirror, just in case. And what did Kris have to say when given the top spot? Something along the lines of “it should have been Adam.” Stop it, Kris! Take the credit. Do you think that “Glambert” would be saying “it should have been Kris?”

One Response to “Kris Allen Idol Upset”

I think Kris deserved to win. Kris was very humble about his win and throughout the whole competition. And I agree: Adam wouldn’t have said, “Kris deserves to win,” because he thinks HE should have won. When the clip of Adam’s fans was playing on the finale night, one of the girls said something like, “We’re really pulling for Adam and I think he’s gonna win.” And when Lambert auditioned, they asked him, “Do you think you’ll be the next American Idol?” and Lambert replied, “Yeah, I think so. I can SANG.” Wow, cocky much? When this question was asked to Kris, he replied, “Well, there are probably people out there that are better than me.” I admired his reply. He was being honest and stating his true feelings. Go Kris. Also, I liked Kris’s voice better. His voice sounded pure and soulful. He made his watchers feel emotionally connected to his songs. He expresses himself with each song and gives out the right vibes to go with it. He can sing without screaming at the top of his lungs. Adam is a good singer with a powerful voice, but his screaming makes my ears hurt. Kris can also play the guitar and piano while he sings and I saw Adam playing nothing. I don’t know why the heck everybody is trying to make such a big deal about Adam losing. I wish everyone would just accept the new Idol and go on. Last year, I really wanted David Archuleta to win. I thought he had the better voice. He was my favorite Idol contestant out of any of the years before. But when he lost, I was saddened but accepted it and moved on. I think anyone complaining about this is acting immature and like a crybaby. It’s like you can’t accept him losing. No one in the history of the show has gotten this much publicity over losing. And I’m not just saying this because I’m a Kris Allen fan. If I was an Adam Lambert fan, I would still feel the same way. I think people should be happy for whoever wins. It’s a great honor to be crowned American Idol. Adam has also got alot of publicity over Idol. He’s the center of attention. I read on a site that when Kris won, people were asking questions like, “Are you surprise When the news came out that Kris Allen won, all the media began with titles similar to “ADAM LAMBERT LOSES!” like that was just crushing everybody’s world. I think the media should begin with titles like so: “Kris Allen crowned the new Idol” or “Kris Allen wins.” I also think Allen was treated unfairly in the competition because a) the excessive amount of publicity placed on Lambert, b) Paula seemed to favor Lambert always smiling at him in a flirty way and once even telling him “he looked so handsome out there” while he was singing, c) people acting in a prejudice way against Kris because they favored Adam, d) the last song choice of the top 2 night. The song “No Boundaries” was co-written by one of the judges and had a higher voice range in the song which they knew Adam could handle because his high point in singing was up high. Kris’s high point in singing was down lower. To be fair, I think that the judges should’ve also have them both sing another song (along with No Boundaries) which registered lower more to Kris’s advantage to see which was more talented. It would be easier for people to decide who had the better voice. My advice to you is that you should give everyone a fair and equal chance. They may prove you wrong later on when they are able to sing more songs and possibly write more songs when they have more experience. You may decide you like them as a singer. Maybe not. Nobody is better than anyone else in this world.

Got something to say?
