Dallas residents are reportedly stunned over the antics of resident neosoul singer Erykah Badu, and police have charged her with disorderly conduct as a result.
Badu was shooting video for her “Window Seat” music video, so she stripped her clothes off in downtown Dealey Plaza in front of families, children and anyone who happened to be walking by. She then fell to the ground, pretending to receive a fatal gunshot to the head at the spot where John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
One witness, Ida Espinosa, was willing to swear out a statement to the police of what she saw, which enabled the police to file charges against Badu.
“Having a fact witness that was there is what let us file the charges,” Sgt. Warren Mitchell said. “After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct. She disrobed in a public place without regard to individuals and small children who were close by.”
So far, Badu or her representatives have made no comment.
