Arlington (CMR) -Coming out in November 2008, the newest James Bond flick, “Quantum of Solace” with locations in Peru, had delayed filming schedules because of unkind weather. As reported in Reuters, the production and shooting at the Machu Picchu ancient Incan ruins were deferred by heavy rainfall.
“Quantum of Solace” is Daniel Craig’s second role as the British super spy, and his co-stars on this film are Olga Kurylenko, who starred in 2007’s “Hitman”, and young English actress Gemma Arterton. Also returning as “M” in this Bond flick is Dame Judi Dench.
In February, the city of Cuzco, which is near the site of the Incan ruins, was covered in controversy following protests about construction and developmental projects near the historic site. However, producers of the James Bond blockbuster explained that this had nothing to do with the postponement of their filming.
It can be recalled that it has been more than 45 years since the first Bond movie, “Dr. No” premiered with Sean Connery as the leading star. This year, “Quantum of Solace” will be the 22nd installment of the adventures of the agent created by Sir Ian Fleming. The James Bond series of films is said to be the second most successful in Hollywood history, following Harry Potter and the Star Wars saga.
