Los Angeles (CMR) - Connor Cruise is making his acting debut in the Will Smith film Seven Pounds.

Connor, 13, is the adopted son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

Cruise snagged a minor role in the film playing a young version of Smith.

Connor shot his part two months ago, reported the Associated Press.

Directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit Of Happiness), the film follows a man who affects the lives of seven other people.

Even though his parents are Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, the 13-year-old still had to audition for the role.

“Tom is so proud of Connor,” a source told People. “He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.”

Cruise and Kidman also adopted another child named Isabella, who is now 15-years-old.

Nicole Kidman is expected to give birth later this year.
