Los Angeles (CMR) - The Lake House star, Sandra Bullock, was involved in a car accident in Gloucester, Massachusetts late Friday night.
The Boston Herald reports that Bullock was with her husband Jesse James and Mark Hussey, who was driving, when a woman in a station wagon jumped lanes and hit the rented SUV Bullock was in.
Although there were no major injuries, the 64-year-old woman in the station wagon identified as Lucille P. Gatchell was reportedly arrested as she failed a sobriety test.
Gatchell’s alcohol level tested two-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
“It’s unfortunate,” said Lt. Gerry Cook. “But it shows you that no one is immune from drunk drivers, no matter how famous you are.”
On Tuesday morning, Gatchell pleaded not guilty to two counts—driving under the influence and failure to stay in a marked lane—in Gloucester District Cour.
Gatchell did not speark during her arraignment, allowing her attorney to speak on her behalf.
“Miss Gatchell is very relieved that no one was injured in the accident,” Benjamin Richard told reporters outside the courthouse. “She also wants to extend her gratitude to Ms. Bullock and Mr. James for the concern they showed to her at the time of the accident.”
