Los Angeles (CMR) - A week ago reports were in that screenwriter, James Vanderbilt, has turned in scripts for both Spider-Man 4 and 5 and that the two movies were likely to be filmed back to back.

Another rumour, though unconfirmed comes from The Latino Review. They report that after the highly criticised Spider-Man 3, are planning to start fresh with a new actor, rather than ask Tobey Maguire to return.

According to the site, producers are considering Almost Famous’ Patrick Fugit and Michael Angarano for the role.

Maguire is not contracted for any more movies and has expressed interest himself into possibly leaving the franchise.

No word if any of the other cast members, including Kirsten Dunst are planned to be replaced.
