Estelle Getty R.I.P.

Los Angeles (CMR) - Estelle Getty died at around 5:30am Tuesday in her Hollywood Boulevard home said her son Carl Gettleman.
She was 84 years old and had been suffering from advanced dementia. Getty is best known for her role on the TV comedy “The Golden Girls” where she played the mother named Sophia.
“The Golden Girls” was about four retired ladies who shared a house in Miami. Getty was 47 when she started the show which she won a Golden Globe Award for in 1986 as well as an American Comedy Award.
Her son said “She was loved throughout the world in six continents, and if they loved sitcoms in Antarctica she would have been loved on seven continents. She was one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived.”
Getty is survived by sons Carl and Barry Gettleman, a brother, David Scher and a sister, Rosilyn Howard.















Estelle was my favorite on the Golden Girls she will be missed by many, My heart goes out to the family my prayers are with you
