New York (CMR) - Another rumour for “The Dark Knight” sequel is being reported by MTV from the Toronto Film Festival.
The latest comes from Michael Caine who is at the festival to promote his latest film called “Is Anybody There”.
Caine played the role of Alfred in the last two Batman movies.
When asked about the next Batman movie Caine stated that the execs at Warner Bros. already have two actors in mind to play The Riddler and The Penguin.
“They’ve already got them in mind,” said Caine, when asked who he’d like to see take up arms against the Caped Crusader. “It’s Johnny Depp as The Riddler and The Penguin is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I read it in the paper.”
Don’t get too excited though… writer/director Christopher Nolan hasn’t officially sighed on to a sequel yet so what caine read in the paper are probably just rumours.
Either way, whoever ends up with these roles will have big shoes to step into after Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker in “The Dark Knight.”
