The hook here is “Christian girl falls to the lions”… she’d be exiled by the right wing if she does it thus missing out on years of speaking to evangelical church groups and ending up with her own real estate/motivational speaker in Christ biz OR she could become the next Jenna Jameson .. leveraging the attention she’d get from gloating gays like Hilton and Musto against the excoriation she’d get from Dobson and Palin into creating her own internet porn biz… Porn is usually a money loser.. but with a recognizable name, a hook, and a high quality product if she really throws herself into this she could be a HUGE player in the biz!

Principles had nothing to do with it. Prejean knew that if she pushed her suit to trial, that tape would come in as evidence and clearly prove that she violated her contract by signing a contract stipulating that there were no nude photos or videos of her. Furthermore, this isn’t the only tape. There are apparently another 7 tapes that have surfaced, plus 30 nude photos. She was NOT 17 when she made the tape first revealed; she was 20. And she was not 17 when she did the semi-nude photo shoots. She did those shoots after she had her breast enhancement in January 2009.

So there has been lie upon lie, and deception upon deception on Carrie’s part. And she knew if she pursued the lawsuit, all this was going to come out and she would lose (which also would have meant paying the Pageant’s legal costs).

So let’s not attribute principles to Prejean that she doesn’t have. I do believe she sincerely opposes gay marriage, and has taken a lot of flack because of her decision to go off campaigning against gay marriage instead of fulfilling her contract with the Miss California Pageant. Now if she wanted to pursue a political career, fine, but don’t breach a contract to do it. And if you do breach your contract to pursue a political career, don’t turn around and claim you were fired for religious discrimination when you know darn well you signed a false affidavit and failed to fulfill the requirements of your contract.

There’s nothing principled about that. It’s pure selfishness. Not to mention, greed. She was hoping for a million dollars plus legal fees, plus plenty of publicity for her book, and probably a lot more speaking engagements. Instead, by her own actions (making the videos, and then leaning on the ex-boyfriend to lie for her and say she was only 17 at the time), she’s been embarrassed and humiliated by revelations of her rather tawdry behavior, and it appears that her speaking engagements are being canceled right and left. She might think about going back to school and getting a degree in something useful because her career in pageants, modeling, and conservative speaking engagements are over. Because of her own behavior. Her choice, her consequences, I don’t feel sorry for her.

And maybe Vivid hasn’t been informed that the “world is tired of her” as many say. Neither has Google, considering the hit count on her name.

They call her hypocrite. No. She would have to profess one moral code and live a lower one–AT THE SAME TIME. If she really has done wrong and squared it up with God and turned things around, she’s no hypocrite. Even our earthly justice no longer considers you guilty once you’ve done your time and been released.

I doubt many of you are terribly concerned about premarital sex. If so, what’s the big deal about making a sex tape for personal, private enjoyment? God may have something to say about it; that’s nobody’s business but His and Carrie’s.

Yes, she should have been up front regarding the image/ego…er…”morals” clause of the contract. Bad. Still, I wonder how many of the other ladies there and elsewhere have similar skeletons behind those closed closet walls.

The REAL liars are the masses throwing stones at her who, if they were to acquire a little honesty, would admit they aren’t bothered by much of anything she has done; they’re bothered by her faith, her principles, her professions, and her opinions, and those of others like her. They dislike what she stands for more than they dislike her.

Yes, they are the liars. And the hypocrites. And the bigots.
