Patrick Swayze, the beloved star of “Dirty Dancing” who succumbed to pancreatic cancer this September at age 57, and his wife are being honored by the Arabian Horse Foundation. Swayze, and his wife, Lisa, were both owners of Arabian horses, and had competed in horse shows multiple times over several years. The Associated Press reports that the Arabian Horse Foundation is a Denver, Colorado-based horse club, and that Foundation President, Larry Kinneer of Dayton, Ohio, spoke Friday about honoring Swayze’s life, and love of Arabian horses, by beginning a scholarship in their names.
Kinneer said the scholarship, “creates a lasting testimony to their careers in dancing, theater and movies, love of the Arabian breed and contributions over the years to AHA youth programs.” The Swayze scholarship will be awarded once each spring to a young person involved with Arabian horses who seeks a career in the performing arts. The scholarship was launched with a pledge from Iron Horse Farms out of Canton, Georgia. This scholarship will further perpetuate Swayze’s positive legacy, and is a lovely way to honor Patrick and Lisa’s thirty-four years together in marriage. Patrick Swayze was an owner of Arabian horses, and a fierce advocate for the protection of Africa’s wild creatures.

Are you guys nuts? What does religious belief have to do with Patrick Swayze’s horses? BUT…Why not just let people have the Freedom of Religion they’re supposed to have? Sheesh!

Patrick was a lover of animals, people and family, he also did his research all which does not describe Judith

I think Judith has some issues that clearly are not related to this article. I didn’t see any mention of religion in this article. Save your communist rants for a forum that cares.

    Rod,
You are right about the comment as they were a spill over from another article we have here and I have since closed off comment on that article. Unfortunately I would have to close off comment to this article also in order to stop all of them but they will die down son enough and the people who are on topic can still be heard.
    Thanks,
