As we reported several weeks ago, “National Treasure” actor, Nicolas Cage, has fallen on hard times financially. The successful actor, who managed to bring in an enormous living with his movie roles over the last couple of decades, is rumored to have a penchant for first class spending sprees. Cage says that is backwards, that instead, his former business manager, Samuel Levin is responsible for running his finances into the dirt. Nicolas Cage is also delinquent in his taxes, owing the Internal Revenue Service a whopping $6.2 million dollars, which has surfaced in the form of a lien against some of his properties.
The story began to circulate that some of Hollywood’s most successful men were stepping in to help Nic Cage in his time of financial hardship. The ‘National Enquirer’ tabloid falsely reported that 2009’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Johnny Depp was stepping in to help cage pay his bills; later they reported a similar story about “Oceans Thirteen” mega-star George Clooney. Clooney’s reps have denied these rumors, noting that the pair has only met once, in Italy. Clooney’s rep told GossipCop.com, “George has met Nicolas Cage once in his life, and that was three of four years ago at the Venice Film Festival.” Nicolas Cage has filed a law suit against former manager, Levin, which is still pending, at this time.
