Cesar Millan, the beloved Dog Whisperer, is getting a divorce from his wife Ilusion. He announced the sad news on his website today.

“We are sad to announce that after 16 years of marriage we have decided to file for divorce. The decision was made after much consideration and time. We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys.”

This is really sad news, but especially for their sons and their pets! How on earth will this couple decide who gets what dog? Will they have joint custody of their beloved dogs? The loss of your pets through divorce is nearly as devastating as losing touch with your children, but at least the kids can be talked to and made to understand what’s going on. A dog does not know or understand divorce. How will Cesar handle this?

Maybe we will all learn how to help our pets through divorce, if that should ever be a problem for us.
