Wesley Snipes Soon to Join Lindsay Lohan in Jail?

Wesley Snipes has lost his appeal on his tax evasion sentence, and must spend three years in jail to pay for his crime of not paying taxes. Last Friday the Miami Court of Appeals ruled that the three years he was sentenced to are “well within” the “considerable discretion” of the district court that originally sentenced him.
Snipes is convicted of not filing (and therefore not paying) taxes for the 1999-2001 tax years. He was convicted in 2008, and has been out on bail since then, but now that his appeal has been rejected he is going to have to don the orange jumpsuit and do his time.
Note to self: File your taxes and pay your taxes. Always! No matter how much it hurts!
The appeals court did not rule on when or where Snipes will do his time, but since it’s a federal misdemeanor, it would be a federal facility and most likely a minimum security. So it’s unlikely he will be housed with Lindsay Lohan, but he might get to know Bernie Madoff. Maybe after Snipes gets out, he’ll get tapped to play Madoff in the movie that will surely be made about the giant ponzi scheme that went wrong.
