Toy Story 3 comes out this Friday, June 18, and in watching the trailers, previews and clips released, it suddenly struck me that the producers are gearing this movie toward a slightly older audience. For example, the newest clips released a few days ago (below) are Ken’s Dating Tips. The older you are, the more entertaining they are.

In Toy Story 3, Andy is getting ready to leave for college (there’s your first clue that the target age group is older) and the toys have to try and stay together as their future becomes uncertain.

While I certainly think this movie will be wonderful entertainment for the young crowd that so enjoyed the first one, I definitely think there’s plenty in this movie to entertain older kids and adults too. Which is great, because when the first Toy Story came out, I had to watch it with my kindergardener about 50 million times. Now she’s old enough to babysit, and I’m certain she will be watching Toy Story 3 a million times too…as a babysitter and interested high-school student.
