Maurice Clarett Eligible for Glee Club at Ohio State

If Maurice Clarett wants to get near the football field upon his return to Ohio State, he’ll have to either buy a ticket or sign up for Glee Club. When he made the choice to leave Ohio State and go pro, he forfeited any eligibility for college sports. Which is too bad, because when he had his act together, he was a darn good player! The Buckeyes could use him. Let’s hope he can sing or knows some cheers.
Clarett was released from prison in April, after serving time for a variety of charges that stemmed from a robbery in 2006. Sadly, he never actually played one down in pro ball. The Broncos had signed him, but waived him before the preseason games started. After that, he got in trouble with the law.
He is a young man who really screwed up, and having paid his debt to society is ready to get back on track. Finishing college is a great start and highly commendable.
Clarett released a statement that said “This is a surreal feeling to be back at Ohio State in such a supportive environment. I have looked forward to being back in school, and I’m doing my best to fit in with other students. I don’t want to be a distraction or nuisance to the football team or to students on campus.”
Best of luck Maurice! Everyone deserves a new start at least once in a lifetime.
