Astros Give Brett Wallace Another Chance in the Major Leagues

Brett Wallace has been traded to the Houston Astros in a deal that started with Oswalt being traded from the Astros to the Phillies for J.A. Happ, Anthony Gose and Jonathan Villar. The Astros then traded Gose to the Toronto Blue Jays for first baseman Wallace.
Wallace has a great reputation in the minor leagues with some wicked good batting averages. He is considered a pure hitter, but when he moves up to the major leagues, he doesn’t hit so good.
Wallace’s career batting average in the minors is .487, but in the major leagues he has not hit over a .302 in the major leagues. Also worrying is the fact that he has been traded several times in the last few months, so you have to start wondering what is going on with him and why no team wants to keep him.
Hopefully he has found a home with Astros and will start performing at the level he seems to be capable.
