American Idol: Top 8 Guys Recap

After several weeks of really not doing well, the guys finally had a good week, just in time to make it difficult to choose the top 12. Apparently they all wanted to be chosen.

Lee Dewyze did well, as usual. Alex Lambert was about the same, the kicker came when Tim Urban got done with his song. Ellen finally woke up from her nap this season and ran up on stage and hugged him. Not sure why, but that was the first time vintage Ellen has shown up in the judge’s chair.

Casey James was much better than last week, and although Simon thought no one would remember it in 24 hours, who cares? The phone lines are only open for 4 hours, right?

Michael Lynche of course did very well, and Simon said it was the best performance of all the live shows so far.

The rest of the guys did fair to middling. The results show should be interesting. There aren’t any clear picks as to who will go home. Andrew Garcia once again failed to impress, but failed to screw up big time. Aaron Kelly split the judges, so it’s to be presumed the voters might follow…he could be safe. Todrick Hall….well….he was the same as usual also. It’s hard to say who will go.
