On the Tonight Show last night, Kara DioGuardi opened up about all things Idol with Jay Leno. She started out by talking about how nervous she was her first season on Idol, saying that it was “freshman year.”
“It sucked. I’d never been on television. The 30-second sound bite — I’m Italian, that’s impossible! To shut up is difficult!”
Moving on to the subject of which contestant she likes the best this year, Kara completely disregarded her previous boy toy Casey James in favor of her current fav Michael Lynche. Evidently being able to make her cry is more important to Kara than being able to make her.. emmm….heat up.
She also said that Ellen is doing a great job and talked some about how her father, Joe DioGuardi is planning to run for Senate in the next election. He will be running against Democrat Gillibrand. Joe DioGuardi is a CPA who plans to run on a platform of fiscal accountability and responsibility.

I hope that Joe Dioguardi’s run for the Senate won’t mean we will be endlessly barraged with pictures and stories about his horrid daughter.
Dioguardi is a has-been who has been defeated three times in his quest to regain a seat in Congress. He seems to think the antidote to that is to run for the Senate instead. He’s wasting his time and ours, and forcing us to look at and read about his daughter, who is the most boring woman alive.
Wow, is somebody a little bitter that Paula isn’t on Idol anymore?
Unfortunately I do think Joe’s Senate run will be overrun by news of Kara, but I disagree that he’s a has-been. I think people are finally waking up to what he’s been saying all this time about government accountability and fiscal responsibility. He’s a hell of a lot better candidate than anybody else New York has produced in the past 5 years.
By the way, the Senate is part of Congress.
