Skip to the end to see who won
We are live blogging the Celebrity Apprentice results show, the season finale where we find out if rocker Bret Michaels or Holly Robinson Peete wins it all. Refresh the page often, as we will post updates at every commercial break.
The opening segment reviewed the work of the two finalists, and show Bret Michaels getting choked up about his daughter being tested for diabetes. Bret is diabetic, and it has caused him some health issues as we all know. Holly made Apprentice history with the largest amount of money made. We reviewed how they had to make Snapple flavors and market them.
At the eleventh hour, Bret Michaels is stuck making his commercial, he needs a dolly track to get the shot he needs. He calls himself a “rock n roll MacGyver” and jury-rigs one out of a cart and stool. Daryl Strawberry is in a bright pink hat for the commercial? Bret had decided to make two commercials instead of one, and now time is crunched.
Switch to Holly’s situation. Ivanka Trump is checking up on the contestants, and Holly explains where’s she’s at. Ivanka seems pleased.
Back to Bret, who is definitely stressed. He’s going over to edit the commercials and realizes he forgot his scripts. Is all this what brought on his brain hemorrhage? Holy cow.
UPDATE 9:41 pm
Holly works on her PowerPoint, and she’s so happy her team is helping her. Then it turns out Curtis wants to leave. He leaves…her stress ramps up a little. “In the end, it’s just me alone,” she says.
Bret calls Summer, asks her to look for his Snapple script. He goes to editing anyway, without it. Then Summer calls and says they’ve lost it. Bret decides to wing it and make one commercial — the funniest one either. “That’s my life story,” he says. “Live without a script.”
With 57 minutes remaining, he shows Summer the work in progress. Summer doesn’t get the humor. Then she tells him about tomorrow, how he has a launch event and needs his Powerpoint presentation. But he went back to the commercial and lets tomorrow worry about tomorrow.
Trump comes on and brings out some of the old contestants. Rod Blegojevich brings up how he was “falsely accused,” and “lied about.” Trump then asks for a show of hands as to who thinks Rod is guilty. No one raises their hands and everyone laughs uncomfortably.
Cyndi Lauper is grateful for her time on the show, and will be performing later. Michael Johnson says “Bret’s a warrior,” and Trump says that so is Holly. Then Trump cuts him off and segues to the commercial.
UPDATE 9:46 p.m.
Holly is ready for her big day. She sees Bret’s label for the first time and thinks it was risky for him to brand it with his celebrity. She thinks you can’t even read it.
Bret arrives at the location of his launch event and discovers how big it is. He starts practicing his presentation and his daughter runs in. “What the…” he says. Summer gets choked up watching their reunion. Rain serves Bret one of his Snapples. Then he has to get back to work.
UPDATE 9:54 pm
After the break, Trump welcomes Summer Sanders, Daryl Strawberry,Maria Kanellis and Curtis Stone.
Summer is grateful for the support for the charity. They replay how Maria griped about the stench after the bathroom dump scene. Curtis is happy to be a big star now and Daryl talks about his restaurant opening up in June in Queens. He thanks Trump from the bottom of his heart.
Back to the test: The Launch Event is happening and Holly is getting ready for hers. Bret is practicing his presentation in the back hallway. Trump arrives at the launch event. Holly is up first for her presentation. Her Snapple product is Snapple Compassionberry Tea. She presents the product and tells how it advocates for autism and how important it is to beat autism.
UPDATE 10:00 p.m.
We meet Jean-Paul, who has acute lymphomic leukemia. His wish is to meet Donald Trump, and he gets to come to the Celebrity Apprentice finale. Then we’re at the finale, and this kid looks just like Trump! Same hair…
Over to Bret…he gives his presentation. Bret’s product is Snapple TropaRocka. Bret is very nervous. When he sees his daughter, he starts speaking from the heart and he starts getting the crowd in his pocket. Then we see his commercial and it was pretty darn funny.
UPDATE 10:14 p.m.
Donald tells us that both the new Snapple flavors are available in the stores, go get yours today.
In the boardroom, Trump talks to Bret and his team. Trump gives Daryl Strawberry $25,000 for his charity. They discuss how Bret was at a disadvantage because he had to do a diet drink.
Holly says how much there was to do. They discuss why Holly didn’t use Maria in the commercial. Turns out she was more focused on the charity, and less on the drink itself. Curtis being a foodie gave the team an advantage when it came to making the flavor.
Discussing the name of Bret’s drink. Tropa-Rocka. Holly thinks her name is better. Trump loves “compassionberry.” Bret agrees it’s a strong name.
But Bret made himself a celebrity spokesperson for Snapple, and Ivanka likes that.
Discussing the label. The group loves Holly’s, and Bret’s was too dark.
It turns out to be a draw between the cover of the ad book and the interior. Bret’s interior is better, Holly’s cover is better. A draw.
Trump puts Summer on the spot and makes her say who she wants to win. We go to commercial while she’s still sitting there mute, unable to make a choice.
UPDATE: 10:25 p.m.
Summer chooses Bret, because she worked so hard for him. Donald asks her if she was a good project manager, and Summer is on the fence again. Daryl says Bret was a great project manager, and everyone tries to explain Summer’s inability to definitely say that Bret was a good project manager.
Then Trump praises them all and how hard they worked, then dismisses them so he can decide who to fire.
“This is very tough,” says Trump as he stares at Holly and Bret.
Trump announces that Bret will be here tonight. He brings in the first Apprentice and Joan Rivers, who is the reigning Celebrity Apprentice. Joan has to advise him on who to fire. She talks about Holly, how she is a mother. Then she talks about Bret and his determination. No sick days..she finds his determination extraordinary. Business-wise, it should be Holly, she says. But screw that, it’s Bret.
Bill Rancic, the first Apprentice says you can’t ignore what Holly has done, having raised more money than anyone else in the history of the show. He doesn’t think it can be decided emotionally. Has to be business.
Trump thinks both of them are divided. Then Trump asks Rob who he likes. Rob says he can’t advocate Bret being fired, because of the daughter thing. He says “Don’t fire Bret.”
UPDATE 10:35 pm
We’re back at the live event , and Trump introduces Holly. Then he introduces Bret. Bret is hobbling a little bit it seems, but he is very hearty. It’s sooo good to see him!
Trump reveals that he STILL has not made a decision. We talk to Bret and he talks about the brain hemorrhage.
“Lately it just seems like me standing up is risking my life,” says Bret when Trump asks if it’s a risk for him to be here. Bret says he didn’t travel this far and be in that much pain to give up now.
Holly talks about how close she and Bret became during the show. It’s not like last year between Joan and Annie Duke. She says she’s already won because her logo is out on Snapple bottles everywhere.
Bret says he’ll take a vote any way he can get it, sympathy or not, after he saw Holly’s dress and realized she’s playing the “hotness card.”
UPDATE 10:45 p.m.
Bret talks about his charity, how he’s here to fight diabetes so kids won’t have to deal with it. His daughter was diagnosed with borderline diabetes during the show.
Holly talks about the HollyRod Foundation, which helps families pay for treatment of autism for families who don’t have the resources that her family has.
Trump cuts her off and goes back to Bret talking about the concert Bret did with a bunch of kids that have diabetes. Trump reminds Holly how she raised $347,000 on one of the challenges.
Cyndi Lauper sings her new song “I’m Just Your Fool” from her new album. Don’t know who this old guy playing the harmonica is, but he is really really good. Uh oh…Cyndi’s on the boardroom table singing to Trump on her knees. That’s kind of creepy. Her sound sure has changed a lot since I last remember hearing her! Of course, I was about 17 then…
UPDATE: 10:53 p.m.
Time for the final decision, supposedly. Holly has to answer “Why you?” She says she took this on, was nervous about leaving her kids and husband, but thought it would be worth it if it could help her cause. She says she’s not really as mean as she seemed on the show, America. Apparently her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was on the show, but she didn’t go to her…her mother said to stay and win.
Bret says it’s simple. He came to win, he gave it everything he had. He won both projects where he was assigned as project manager. He thinks if he showed his hard work ethic he would win. He talks about how he was late, but he always gives 100% and hopes that will win for him.
The judges talk for a bit…I swear just to use up time as we are now going to commercial break again. Go figure!
UPDATE 10:59 p.m.
Omg…are they stalling? We had a black screen for a minute, then more commercials. Finally, we’re back…Trump says they both deserve to win. Snapple has agreed to match the grand prize. Both charities will receive a quarter of a million dollars. Essentially, they both win as they both get the same prize. That is great news!
Holly starts crying. Trump says Bret started out flaky but proved himself to be very brave. Trump is proud of Holly and says we all love her. Then he hires Bret. That means Holly is fired!
Did Trump say “Bret, you’re hired?” or “Bret, you’re fired?” I have listened to it 20 times, and he said “hired.” Apparently even Trump could not bear to tell Holly she’s fired!

I think bret is sexually harassing her by commenting on her dress. Is it just me? That wouldn’t fly in the workplace.
cyndi lauper sounds and looks like a washed up bette midler.
what else could he do? even donald trump has an image to uphold, and possibly a heart!…bret was my favorite i’m glad he won and i think hollly is too!
That was strictly a sympathy vote. Donald Trump who is all about money is a phoney. Holly raised the most money in the history of the show and did not win?! Yes we all feel for Brett, but the show is not Sympathy Apprentice! Great job Brett, but better job Holly. Poor job DONALD!!!!!!
Holly’s main claim to fame was making the most money. They never mentioned again the screwup where she lost the challenge in the apartment and the sponsoring group called it “shabby Cheap”. I know Donald wanted to hire her because she’s “Cute” . She was a cutthroat player where Bret played to win in a really positive nice way. And sympathy vote? I don’t think so, his commercial was so much better than hers, there was no comparison. Hers was just stupid, she wasn’t that smart
I think Bette is a terrific performer – but she does not have the octave range of Lauper – you are an ass Marlis – and you do not know anything about musical instruments.
Bret wo fair & square, folks!! He won every-time he was a project mgr. Holly only won one. He was being polite, complimenting Hollys’ dress for GOD sakes. Good for you Bret,
Holly did the better job, and raised the most money……
She is fight for kids with Autism, which impacts every 1 out of 100 boys born today……
You did AUTISM a tremendous disservice NOT voting for Holly. In essense you voted against all the 1out of 100 boys that get autism….
Way to go Trump….YOUR fired……..
Especially at Marlis, are you jealous? You weren’t wearing Hollys’ dress?? Bret worked his but off, every Sunday night. I never watched anybody work so hard. He also won every project mgr. he was!! Holly only won 1>> So quit being riduleous, and if you think Mr. Trump ever gives any one a your hired, cause you were ill??? Look at the last eposoide, he went with his brain and still won. Good for you Bret, you have shown hard work pays off. Holly gossiped about Cindy, Sharon at first yet, ho-hum Bret never said 1 bad thing about anyone. The world with your negativity is why were in this state. Congrats. Bret!!
Holly was the winner. She was a superb leader, project manager and won the most money in the history of the show. Donald Trump is human and showed his human side on Sunday night. He chose the rocker over business. I thought Bret was great, but he was not the overall winner yet he was the sympathy vote of the night.
In the end, both charities benefited from the 1/2 million dollar donation. I have lost several family members to diabetes. I am also a Mom and wife. My heart goes out to families that have to parent an autistic child. Its stressful enough parenting children without autism. .
Bret absolutely deserved this win! He won every task he was project manager on and even worked is butt off for challenges that weren’t his! Many of the players allowed Bret to take creative control, which shows just how much faith they all had in him. He didn’t win because of his illness, he won because he was a great player, a team player, creative, original and dedicated!! Fantastic job, Bret!!!! However, nobody can say that Holly was anything less than fabulous either, but Bret’s attitude and wins throughout the entire season made him the better choice! His commercial and pamphlet were also slightly better than hers.
