First up was Laurie Kilmartin. Her jokes were very much geared toward women, which works for me but my husband didn’t think she was all that funny. She did the single mom routine and I’ve been cheated on stuff, which was just ok. Not earthshakingly funny and probably not good enough to win, but maybe good enough to stay in the competition for another week.

Felipe Esparza’s humor kind of grows on you. By the end of his routine I was laughing, but at the beginning it wasn’t that funny. His line about the war in Iraq is still going on…the British are helping…the Mexicans want to help but they need a ride….that was funny!

Roy Wood Jr. has a funny voice and most of his jokes were ok. Nothing too groundbreaking, but ok.

Maronzio Vance wants to win so he can pay off a lot of debt. I hear that! Me too! He totally had me laughing out loud with his routine about being an economically friendly super hero named Pay Attention Man. He almost goofed up his joke about the airline confirmation code, but he pulled it off and it was hilarious.

Rachel Feinstein…I think she had the same dress on as Laurie, but a different color. Weird. I’m sorry, she just wasn’t funny. She has great legs though!

Tommy Johnagin…What is with all the old-age humor tonight, poking fun at grandma’s and grandpa’s? He wasn’t funny either. His last bit about the ugly stripper was probably the best. Ugh.

Jonathan Thymius is one of my favorites. Maybe I’m getting old? His timing and delivery are just superb. The way he grins with one side of his mouth and those retro glasses! He’s been on a diet for two months and so far he’s lost….two months! Very funny guy. Everyone else is rushing to get all their jokes in the short time limit, but he took his time and gave every joke the time it needed. Very refreshing!

James Adomian is a yeller: one of those comics that yells his whole routine. And I did not get his John Adams routine so it wasn’t very funny.

Mike DeStefano was next. He is a yeller too, but he got me at the beginning by asking if you know people who have good self esteem who shouldn’t. His routine was ok funny. Not the best, not the worst. I chuckled a couple times.

Last up was Myq Kaplan. Usually he does jokes about vegan stuff and he did not disappoint tonight. He was very funny and I liked his joke about the street musician. Apparently you can make up to $60 an hour as a street musician, and $60 a minute robbing a street musician.

So the results of the voting will be revealed next week at the beginning of the show, which is kind of cruel as someone has to prepare for a show that they won’t get to do. But that’s life. I predict Rachel Feinstein will go home.
