Vancouver (CMR) - Juno was already released a few months ago before it was approved to be released for worldwide distribution. Before it was even released the buzz and review about the movie is really crazy that almost anyone got really interested to watch the movie for themselves.

No one was disappointed. Juno is a simple story brilliantly written and acted by Ellen Page (X-Men), Michael Cera (Superbad, Arrested Development), Jennifer Garner (Electra, Alias) and Jason Bateman (Arrested Development).

It follows the story of a “devil may care” high school student that was pregnant by his boyfriend/band mate. She tries to live the normal life while going through the process of providing a family for her coming child.

What made this film very interesting are the subplots that went with the main story. The high school life of Juno, the intended parents of her child, her relationship with her boyfriend and the story of Juno’s parents are all too good not to miss. Juno’s personality shows us how it is to live a carefree life while at the same time caring for what is really important to us. The struggle of the couple who are looking for a child to raise as their own is also highlighted.

The twists and plots of the story is a little bit predictable but it makes still makes us giggle with the thought of the possible scenario.

The acting, I should say, is nothing less than brilliant. I don’t know if Ellen Page could expand to other acting roles but this role definitely fits her. Her face looks like an angel while her situation tells her that she’s nothing sort of like it. Her role of being a rebel without a cause looked great on her.

Michael Cera, just off to his blockbuster hit “Superbad”, gives the stage to Ellen making him a perfect platform for performance. Their chemistry on the movie is remarkable and could be a classic couple that we’ll remember for years.

To sum it all, Juno is a unique cinematic experience. It doesn’t have the usual flashy effects, tear jerking situations or thought provoking content but it does gives us a glimpse of humanity as they face one of the greatest gift in life – the gift of life. Juno doesn’t have the usual funny situations but the off-beat humor is more than enough to make you chuckle a bit while enjoying the movie right from the start.

CMR gives “Juno” a rating of 4.5/5.
