Arlington - Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman come together for this romantic comedy. Uma Thurman is Jenny Johnson who is also the G-Girl, a New-York based super hero and Luke Wilson is Matt Saunders who falls in love with Jenny Johnson but soon learns that she is actually G-Girl.

Mayhem already started even before Luke Wilson learns she’s G-Girl. You can just image how things progressed when he learns she’s also a super hero. But the fun doesn’t stop there. When he breaks up with the super hero and starts dating other women, unimaginable chaos happens to Matt Saunders.

People may say that the concept of the story is very simple that you don’t have to watch it to know how it progresses. But honestly, the writers of the story aren’t there to provide a compelling story but a funny story instead. The pacing of the story is not boring as you’ll be taken through different characters who are involved in the story. Although I find Uma Thurman still attractive in her nerdy looks which makes me wonder why no one is courting her, the movie provides a good story to tell. Expect a good laugh as you watch this movie.

If you’re rearing to rate this movie based on their acting, it might border the failing grade. As I’ve already indicated, Uma Thurman is still hot even with the nerdy, eccentric look. Luke Wilson on the other hand, just use his traditional confused, good boy look all the time. Even the supporting cast is almost stereotype in their roles. Rainn Wilson might be a lot different in name and character but he still moves likes he’s in “The Office”. Anna Farris on the other hand, gives us a refreshing performance as she slowly walks away from the “Scary Movie” Franchise where she has starred in all four of them. You can literally see how Ms. Farris changed herself to a good comedic actress without the goofiness this time.

The movie has practically achieved what it was supposed to do – to make us laugh. If you’re looking for other things, you would be greatly disappointed. Having said that, “My Super X-Girlfriend” might have solicited bad reactions from the critics but I don’t think the producers made this movie to be a literary masterpiece. If you want to have a hearty laugh, check out this movie and you’ll never be disappointed. Besides, it’s a welcoming character for Uma Thurman as she tries to give us a great time at the movies with her effortless beauty.
