The Karate Kid 2010 is a delightful remake of the 80′s classic movie series and Jaden Smith brings it home nicely. I took my young son to see this movie, he is years 8 old, and he was delighted all the way through. This is a nicely done remake as it takes the original story and gives it a slightly new twist along with a new location. In this version of “The Karate Kid”, Dre, played by Jaden, leaves Detroit for China. This is where the story line is similar to the original as Dre meets a girl and also bullies who don’t like him. Jackie Chan delivers one of his best performances ever as he reprises the role of mentor and father figure, originally played by Pat Morita. Jaden Smith has clearly got some of his famous parents “talent” genes as he is a wonderful young actor. The Karate Kid 2010 is one of the must see films of the summer by making an old story new again while keeping the original story.

The movie was outstanding. But his name is not Jayden Smith. His name is Jaden Smith. There is no “y”.
Thank you catching our spelling error.
good movie – contarast cultures – realistic families – should be called “Kung-Fu Kid”
This was a really good movie. It’s definitely worth seeing. Jaden inherited his father’s charm.
